Recon is the second episode of the first season of Arby 'n' the Chief.

Summary[]

Master Chief and the Arbiter discuss various issues such as the reaction from Bungie of the first episode and the undeserved sense of accomplishment when sporting the katana. Master Chief also unveils his plot to obtain the Recon armor from Bungie.

Plot[]

Master Chief is browsing on the laptop and Arbiter is playing Halo 3. Chief then asks why Arbiter is playing Halo 3 if he hated Bungie, and Arbiter corrects Chief by explaining that he doesn't hate Halo 3 or Bungie, he just dislikes the Heroic map pack. Chief then states that an episode of Arby 'n' The Chief Episode One, "Pilot", was posted on Bungie's website, saying that the video had disrespectful remarks about the map pack and that Bungie hates the Arbiter. Replying that they are just being sarcastic, and that they wouldn't post a link on their front page that they dislike, and give it more attention, Arbiter tells Chief that he takes things too seriously and always jumps to conclusions, leading to a small verbal battle between them. Chief then joins Arbiter on the couch and watches him playing Halo 3. Chief asks why Arbiter isn't playing with the katana body piece, and Arbiter simply remarks that he doesn't like it. Chief then boasts that using it will make other players think that he is better than them. Arbiter tells him that nobody beyond the age of eight cares.

Chief leaves the room. Arbiter follows him and finds him working on something. Chief demands that Arbiter leave, but Arbiter pleads with Chief to see what he is creating, and Chief explains to him it is his plan to get Recon armor from Bungie. After examining his plan, Arbiter says that his plan is complex, but says that the plan is not possible, upsetting the Chief. Arbiter, in an attempt to cheer Chief up, tells him that he might have a better plan, and then e-mails Bungie about Chief wanting Recon armor. After finishing the e-mail, Arbiter decides to play Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, which annoys Chief to a great extent, but Chief just decides to browse lolcats.com instead for his amusement.
